Default 7 Hero Speed Challenge

OK. I think its clear that there's no "best" 7-hero build at the moment. The variables are too wide.

What are your thoughts on a solid generalist speed-clear build? One for players who want to move new characters quickly through NM missions. So no minions and an emphasis on speed boots.

Well in NM you can easily just blow things up with Searing Flames or Savannah Heat Eles. Throw a paragon in there with Incoming, Fall Back, and They're on Fire, and you got pretty much what you're asking for.

In NM you do, in short. Want to avoid armor ignoring damage and go for normal damage types but vary them and add up some cracked armor since there's tons of different ways to apply it these days. Elementalists are king and so are damage focused dervishes these days. Both are capable of practically self healing themselves and just need a little help. So single monk backlines and selfhealing works great

In NM 5 mesmer Keystone is so ridiculously stupid it isnt even funny. 4 even. Searing Flames on 6 heroes is interesting as well. Actually, anything armor ignoring or Fire x5 makes normal mode practically a waste of time.

The best build thus-far that I've been using and completely face rolling PvE with is the following. Pretty much a combination of all the builds I enjoyed over the years crammed into a single super mega awesome fun enjoyable orgasm of pwn.

Slot 1 - Human Player - Warrior/Dervish
1. Warriors Endurance
2. Power Attack
3. Farmers Scythe
4. Whirlwind Attack
5. Radiant Scythe
6. Flail (Or Frenzy, Personal choice)
7. Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support
8. Save Yourself! (This is a filler skill, Sometimes I run Air of Superiority or Breath Of The Great Dwarf for area's where we need lot's of party-wide healing quickly)

Slot 2 - Hero Necromancer - Necromancer/Monk
1. Jagged Bones
2. Animate Shambling Horror
3. Animate Bone Fiend
4. Putrid Bile
5. Death Nova
6. Protective Spirit
7. Aegis
8. Signet of Lost Souls

Slot 3 - Hero Necromancer - Necromancer/Ritualist
1. Xinrae's Weapon (Weapon of Remedy in certain zone's with a lot of conditions)
2. Weapon of Warding
3. Mend Body and Soul
4. Spirit Light
5. Protective Was Kaolai
6. Life
7. Foul Feast
8. Flesh of My Flesh

Slot 4 - Hero Monk - Monk/Mesmer
1. Word of Healing
2. Patient Spirit
3. Vigorous Spirit
4. Ethreal Light
5. Heaven's Delight
6. Cure Hex
7. Waste Not Want Not
8. Power Drain

Slot 5 - Hero Monk - Monk/Mesmer
1. Restore Condition
2. Spirit Bond
3. Gift of Health
4. Shield of Absorption
5. Deny Hexes
6. Aegis (Micro with Necromancers for Dual-Aegis)
7. Waste Not Want Not
8. Power Drain

Slot 6 - Hero Mesmer - Mesmer/Monk
1. Panic (or VoR, or PD, or PB, depends)
2. Mistrust
3. Wastrel's Demise
4. Unnatural Signet
5. Overload
6. Power Drain
7. Waste Not Want Not
8. Strength And Honor

Slot 7 - Ritualist Hero - Ritualist/Any
1. Signet of Spirits
2. Painful Bond
3. Bloodsong
4. Splinter Weapon
5. Ancestors Rage
6. Spirit Siphon
7. Spirit Light
8. Death Pact Signet

Slot 8 - Ritualist Hero - Ritualist/Any
1. Signet of Ghostly Might
2. Pain
3. Shadowsong
4. Disenchantment
5. Anguish
6. Dissonance
7. Dulled Weapon
8. Boon of Creation

Sometimes I drop one of the healers and pick up either a Burning Arrow Ranger, Mind Blast / Savannah Heat Elementalist or whatever the area require's if I don't need all the defense I have. I did all of the Normal Mode missions in Factions and Prophecies and didn't die a single time (I saw maybe 4 death's the whole time for my heroes, mostly due to over-aggro and myself not picking up the trash on my monk's). I also acquired Masters in every Factions mission with like 4 - 5 minutes to spare each time. Then I got into Hard Mode and it was the same, Did 5 Vanquishes (the last two Daily Ones) and I didn't die and completed each in under an hour. In addition to all of this I have about 9 variants of my W/D Enduring Scythe that I use, I also occasionally use a W/R Enduring Axe with Never Rampage Alone + Level 20 Hearty Pet if I need another body to block things.

Suggestions welcome, my build isn't meant to be completely overpowered, I push out enough offense to kill everything in a matter of seconds and have enough defense that I aggro'd every single vaettir in Hard Mode and killed them all without a death.

If we look, I've got Healing, Hex Removal, Condition Removal, Spike Recovery, Hard Res low-mana, Hard Res high-mana, Blind, Poison, Bleeding, Dual-Aegis, Splinter + AoE Melee, Interrupting (by my count something like 3 with a fourth AoE type interrupt), Minions, Spirits, Lack of Critical hits (Enemy), Lower Enemy Damage, Degeneration, Damage Absorption, Party-Wide Heals, Bombs and Ranged.

Not much else I'm missing besides an Elemental Damage Source which I could easily get if I pushed my Panic Mesmer to be a Panic + AoE Fire Nuker, that and a few conditions (Dazed would be great) and Knockdown.

he asked for a nm speed build. you have 2 dedicated healers, a full on prot and an n/mo with even more prots then 2 spirit spammers which are defiantly not designed for speed at all. theres no need for any of that while you also have SY on your bar. thats too much for hm.

i'd load up some sf ele's, if your running melee take a rt/mo with sos, soh, splinter weapon and ancestors rage and just blow threw them.

EDIT: throw a necro in there with icy veins , putrid bile and putrid explosion and blow shit up.

haha, i was gonna say the same but i just figured someone else allready had.

i was playing around with 5 mesmers yesterday, and got down to third floor on topk hm with a total of 5 heals spread over 2 bars and the usual jagged bones prot setup, no elites. in nm im very partial to just bringing selfheals really, cause thats enough. though i believe whoever said 5x keystone would do a good job is right too. the usual fire ele way wastes a lot of time on those single rangers.

btw, my shiftkey is dysfunctional

oh yeah, one thing you could try though is to bring a single monk with no healing elite and a secoundary healer with a couple of rit heals. then grab fall back and incoming on the monk and just run thru the campaign killing only the mobs you have to. it'll work

Don't judge a build without trying it. A Minion Bomber, 2 Spirit Spammers, a Warrior that ball's up opponents (And uses Splinter / Farming Scythe / Strength and Honor / Whirlwind Attack) and a Mesmer that mass interrupts / does damage I have no issue Vaniquishing every area, completing all Factions missions in NM / HM under the Masters Time Limit all while doing this without dying (Survivors at the same time you're doing all the missions is awesome). speed is only good when you're able to live while pulling far more than you should be able to in a game like Guild Wars.

PS: Drop the RC Monk, Use the regular Sabway Healer, Put a SF Ele that also uses "Find Their Weakness!" in it's place and you clear things even faster and have AoE Deep Wound and burning and massive bodies to block things that go after your healers. Healing is needed for a few missions in Factions which is why I chose the above build for the vast majority of NM/HM 8-player missions.

NM? EBSoH on player bar, as many Searing Flames as you can fit on your heroes, /P for a few with command skills with maintainable Fall Back as a must.
